Building the Future of STEM Education: Inside Faith Lutheran's New Crusader Technology Center

Nigro Construction was proud to deliver the Hooks Family Crusader Technology Center, a 92,917-square-foot educational facility that will redefine STEM learning in Southern Nevada for generations to come.

Completed ahead of the 2026-2027 school year, the two-story center combines advanced technology, specialized learning environments, and collaborative spaces designed to prepare students for an increasingly innovation-driven world.

Turning Vision Into Reality

Faith Lutheran sought to create a facility that would go beyond the traditional classroom model by providing students with immersive, hands-on learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

From the earliest planning stages through final construction, Nigro Construction worked closely with project stakeholders to ensure every detail aligned with the school's educational goals.

"We've built a lot of incredible projects over the past 40 years, but the ones that stand out are the ones where great ideas and great partnerships come together," said Mike Nigro, President of Nigro Construction. "The Hooks Family Crusader Technology Center reflects what can be accomplished when a client has a bold vision and the right team is there to make it a reality."

A Facility Designed for the Future

The completed Crusader Technology Center features a wide range of specialized spaces created to support modern STEM education and experiential learning.

Advanced STEM Laboratories

State-of-the-art science labs equipped with specialized infrastructure, including fume hoods, wash stations, and advanced laboratory equipment, provide students with real-world learning experiences in a safe and functional environment.

Dedicated Physics Laboratory

The facility includes a specialized physics lab with a custom ceiling-mounted system designed to support heavyweight experiments, creating opportunities for advanced scientific exploration.

Environmental Science Learning Space

An environmental science laboratory connects directly to an outdoor saltwater tank, allowing students to engage in hands-on research and observation beyond the classroom walls.

Esports Arena

Recognizing the growing role of technology and digital competition in education, the center includes a high-performance esports arena featuring gaming PCs, premium seating, acoustic treatments, and customizable LED lighting.

Technology-Enabled Classrooms

Flexible learning spaces throughout the building support collaboration, innovation, and modern teaching methods while adapting to evolving educational needs.

Interactive STEM Experiences

Additional features include an interactive physics playground, a spacious multipurpose room, an inviting lobby, and an outdoor courtyard designed to encourage collaboration, recreation, and community engagement.

Managing Complexity Through Collaboration

Facilities like the Crusader Technology Center require more than traditional construction expertise. Each specialized space brings unique infrastructure, technology, and operational requirements that must work together seamlessly.

Successful delivery required continuous coordination among architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and school leadership throughout every phase of construction.

"Every specialized space has unique infrastructure, technology and building requirements that have to work together seamlessly," said Cory Frank, Vice President of Business Development and Project Management. "Our role is bringing all of those moving pieces together so our clients can stay focused on their vision while we focus on delivering it."

The result is a facility that not only meets today's educational needs but is designed to support future advancements in STEM learning.

Continuing a Legacy of Excellence

The completion of the Hooks Family Crusader Technology Center is another milestone in Nigro Construction's portfolio of impactful commercial projects across Southern Nevada.

For more than four decades, Nigro Construction has built a reputation for delivering complex projects through craftsmanship, collaboration, and a commitment to client success. Whether constructing educational facilities, commercial developments, or specialized spaces, the company's approach remains the same: build trust, solve challenges, and deliver exceptional results.

"Our success is measured by our clients' success," said Mike Nigro. "When we hand over the keys, we want them to know they had a partner they could trust every step of the way. That's the standard we've built our reputation on for more than 40 years, and it's the standard we bring to every project."

As students, educators, and families begin using the new Crusader Technology Center, the impact of the project will extend far beyond the building itself. It will serve as a place where future innovators discover new possibilities, develop critical skills, and prepare for the careers of tomorrow.
